Lately I have been seeing lots of commericals showing all kinds of new contraptions for your skin. The most recent one was of this lovely very young woman, with the most beautiful (most likey airbrushed) skin touting the benefits of this rubber pronged looking thing that is supposed to deeply clean your skin and those clogged pores you didn't know you had.

Skin Care Tips

I have a challenge for all women out there that seems simple in concept but sometimes difficult to implement. Make and take time to take care of yourself! This means different things to different women, for me (mom, spa goddess, wife, sister, daughter, etc....) “care” means regular facials/peels, not because I am a skin therapist, but because when I look in the mirror and my skin looks great it trickles over into all aspects of my life.

I'm too afraid to get a facial because I fear I might break out."
This is a common fear among women and men who haven't had a facial.
First and foremost what is "breaking out" to you? Is it one pimple? Is it bumpiness on the chin and jaw? Is it blackheads? Is your skin super sensitive or does it have a tendency to break out at certain times of the month? Did you have breakouts prior to your first facial. What do you use on your skin? Do you wax or use depilatories? What's your main goal? These are all questions (and many more) we ask so that we can customize a facial for your skin type and concern.
If you have clear skin with minor breakouts the truth is that you will most likely not have any problems. And if you do have congested skin most likely you will be on a path to having clearer skin after your first facial.
I must confess, I love the beach. Now many of you who have grown up by a beach will agree, but as a skin therapist, aka esthetician, I am really not supposed to be a lover of the sun. I see sun damaged skin all day long at my spas and I see women all day long trying to fix years of sun damage. I can’t help it though, the pure dose of vitamin d gives me such a feeling of euphoria, I become an addict.
It is one of those misty breezy humid evenings. Almost steamy. Summer and its weather. If you looked outside without feeling the temperature, you may even feel like it is crock-pot weather. Feeling the weather, though, you would quickly realize that instead you would want to sip a nice cool glass of lemonade with a sprig of lavender or an icy water with a few sprigs of mint. Because I am fortunate to have a cross breeze from the bay keep my house un-airconditioned, I felt the need to take a bath. A bath with lots of bubbles, lots of rose oil since that is my all time favorite and lots of accoutrements.
I wish I could show you my fabulous new bikini wax. i have become addicted to super tight bikini waxing, I love the way they make you feel as a woman, kind of like a great new pair of underwear only better. if you have never tried a bikini wax that is super tight, now is the time, don't be scared but rather feel empowered as it is a great way to make a small change that will make you feel like a different person. Read on for more of my insights into the trials and tribulations of women who don't care about such an important part of their bodies.
